How to annotate
- Point + arrow — Left-click to place a point, move mouse to aim the arrow, left-click again to confirm.
- Point only — Right-click anywhere to drop a point without an arrow.
- Into/out of screen — After placing a point, press I for into the screen (⨯) or O for out of the screen (⊙).
- Record your explanation — Press R or click the mic button to describe how the object works. You can edit the transcript before submitting.
- Undo / Redo — Press Z to undo, Shift+Z to redo.
- Zoom — Drag the slider to zoom in/out on the image.
- Chain mode — Press C to start a chain. Points are labeled 1A, 1B, 1C... to show a sequence of connected interactions. Press C again to end the chain.
- Cancel — Press Esc to cancel a point being placed.
- Submit — Click Submit when you've annotated all moving parts and recorded your explanation.
Rule
Every point you place must be referenced in your transcript. Mention each numbered point and explain what it marks (e.g., "pull the handle on Point 1 to open it").
Tip
It may be easier to start recording from the beginning and fix the transcript as you go, rather than typing everything out.
Audio is not saved — the microphone is only used for speech-to-text transcription to make the tool easier to use. You can also type your explanation directly.
